About Us

Our philosophy is that the whole body contributes to what may appear as just a symptom in one area.  We see beyond the obvious and treat the whole body as it relates to your problem.   Our treatment strategy combines progressive with traditional methodologies.  Treatment techniques are specific to your unique problem so you will never experience a protocol treatment for your pain.   Our primary treatment approach is the John F. Barnes approach to Myofascial Release and Unwinding, Total Motion Release, functional restoration through motor re-education and most importantly patient education.
Our patients typically enjoy the common sense approach to treatment and often witness immediate benefit.   They often experience feeling better than they felt before their injury or problem.  They also leave with the basic knowledge of how to manage immediate injuries and pain in the future.
Many times, chronic physical pain may be influenced by increased emotional stress.  Kathleen’s experience with transformational facilitation enhances her ability to integrate the mind/body component of healing into physical therapy treatment.

Kathleen Troust, DPT

Kathleen Troust graduated from Marymount University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree after an 8-year career as a fitness, Pilates, and group exercise instructor. Kathleen is a member of the International Myopain Society and American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), and is further recognized in the APTA’s Women’s Health section.

Kathleen’s focus on continuing education includes John F. Barnes’ approach to Myofascial Release and Unwinding, Peter O’Sullivan’s motor-learning approach to chronic spinal pain management and Tom Delonzo-Baker’s Total Motion Release program. She has also pursued specialized training in Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Therapy for women’s health issues, intraoral pain and pediatrics
Kathleen’s approach to physical therapy treatment is holistic in nature, looking at the whole body as essential to uncovering the root cause of the physical dysfunction.  Using these more progressive approaches to therapy allow her to address more of the factors that may be contributing to the physical problem.
Kathleen has advanced training in personal coaching with Inner Journey Seminars, an educational organization for personal and spiritual development. She enjoys meditation, dancing, attending personal development seminars, vacationing in the mountains with her family, and teaching indoor cycling.
